The Ficus Melany Plant grows as a deciduous vine that can reach heights of up to eight feet tall. It is native to Central America and its bark can be dark maroon or reddish-brown in color. This is a species of ficus tree native to Central America. It is also commonly known as buonymus and spathiphyllum by the few scientists who have devoted themselves to the study of this beautiful plant. The genus name, ficus, comes from the Latin word for the palm tree. To give this tree the distinctive spathiphyllum appearance, it is often called spathiphyllum or buonym.
