ABOUT OF SPATHIPHYLLUM CUPIDO
Spathiphyllum cochlearispathum is an evergreen perennial species in the arum family, Araceae. Also commonly known as Cupido Peace Lily, this attractive plant has a tufted habit and produces lance-shaped, shiny leaves with long pointed tips and green-white flowering spathes. Native to Mexico, this is an attractive foliage plant that tolerates neglect well. It is a popular houseplant due to its preference for a shady location. It adapts well to growing indoors but will flower better with increased light. It has also been found to absorb certain contaminants very effectively from the air. Mildly toxic to humans and animals on ingestion and foliage can irritate the skin.Spathiphyllum cochlearispathum is an evergreen perennial species in the arum family, Araceae. CARE:
- Place the Spathiphyllum in room temperature (not below 15°C, and not above 25°C)
- Put the plants in (half) shadow, definitely not in full sunshine.
- Water the Spathiphyllum preferably twice a week, do not let the soil dry out.
- Regular spraying of the leaves promotes growth. High atmospheric humidity discourages brown leave edges. (This is especially important in winter when the heating is turned on).
- Fertilise the plants once every 2 weeks for improved growth and once a month during the winter.
- Remove dead flowers.
- Do not discard dead plants! With proper care the plant will grow new flowers after 4-12 months.
- The plant is like airy soil (anthurium soil). Repotting is best done in spring.
- Spathiphyllum is intended for decorative purposes, not for consumption.
Spathiphyllum outside
After middle of May the Spathiphyllum can go outside. We recommend protecting the plants at night during the first week or putting them inside.
Place the Spathiphyllum away from full sunshine, in a place with as little wind as possible to prevent dehydration
