Fern Boston Plant is a member of the berry family, the Rutaceae, or Labiatae. The plant comes in many forms, including a large fruit and a tiny underground stem. It has pale yellow flowers that are also black with purple accents.

In the late winter or early spring, the Fern Boston Plant grows from two to six feet tall. When it blooms, the flowers burst open, causing the fern to appear bushy. Some call this the “pink of the rose.” This flower has been called the “petal of the flower,” because of its appearance like the petals of a rose. The fern plant has long narrow leaves and it blooms for a few weeks during March and April, before flowering stops for the summer
