• This herbaceous perennial is native to Greece and has been used for centuries as a herb in medicine. For example, it is one of the main ingredients in ancient Greek tea called Stavros Niarchos. Ancient Greeks used it for stomach, and intestinal problems, as well as a drink that was said to have aphrodisiac properties. These properties helped make the tea an important part of Greek civilization in ancient times. Its popularity spread throughout the Mediterranean world and eventually it became common in the West.
• The Anigozanthos Table Top Sprite plant is a fairly large herb to grow, and therefore it can be a very nice table top plant. This species of herb is commonly referred to as a “pot plant” because it does not require a larger space than your kitchen or small yard. It can grow up to eight feet tall and produces up to six to twelve blooms throughout the year. This plant is great for both indoor and outdoor gardens. You will be happy to know that it grows in all kinds of soil conditions, including clay, sand, silt, limestone, peat moss, bark mulch, and compost.
